Standards Manager for AutoCAD Blocks

Accessible by users with Edit BE Standards access rights (see User Access ).

Use this view to configure and modify block library standards.

Block Explorer supports several ways to configure block-insert Layer, Color and Linetype (LCL):

·      Block Level configuration — specify LCL for each block using Active Block Settings module. Configuration is stored in library database and is applied to every instance of this block’s insert.

·      Standards Level configuration — specify LCL using Standards module.
Configuration is stored in Library Hub database.

This is the most efficient way of applying LCL because it allows creating multiple configurations (standards) for the same libraries.

You can preset a standard for each client and assign this standard to client drawings. Block Explorer will use this standard when a block is inserted to automatically place it on correct layer with appropriate color and linetype.

When configuring a standard, editor assigns desired LCL to library folders.

For example:

Assigning MyLibrary\Pumps and MyLibrary\Tanks folders to “Equipment” layer.

Then any block from these two folders is inserted on “Equipment” layer.
